Every Monday night from 8-10, I join my girlfriends at our local Margarita's for Stump Trivia!
For those who have never played, the dj/trivia master guides teams through 4 rounds of trivia. Each round has four questions and as a group you decide how many points you want to earn if you get the questions right. There are also bonus games between each round (for example, between the 1st and 2nd round there is the picture round, where you have to label the pictures of musicians, cartoon characters, etc) . Trivia questions range from movies, music, sports, literature, rocks (yes, we had a rock category one week), and anything else you can think of.
We do a pretty good job. Our team (Team Uh-Oh!) usually finishes in the top three, except for last week where we had our first place win! Our team each got a coupon for a free appetizer and some fun swag from a promotional night they had recently.
If you have a trivia program near you, I highly suggest it. We always have a blast and it is a great way to start the week :)
Sounds like tons of fun!
ReplyDeleteThe last time we did a restaurant trivia thing was when we were on vacation on a quiet island and we stuck out like sore thumbs. It was definitely a locals' thing and they definitely read lots--and retain! Pop culture is one thing, history from the 1600s is another.

cRk: It is so much fun, plus great food and drinks!
ReplyDeleteJen: Wow, I can't believe the obsecure inform needed. Luckily our trivia guy gives us a great variety (and mostly current) of questions.
Young: Yikes, that must have been interesting. Last night we had to write the name of the actor shown, the movie they were in, and then the actor that was in all ten movies (but wasn't shown).
